| MULTIPLE REMOTE, MULTIFUNCTION STATIC CONTROL MONITORS | ||
| DESCRIPTION |
| The SMU-200-4, SMU-200-6, SMU-200-4A and SMU-200-7A systems consist of one central control unit and up to four, six or eight remote units. Available remotes include single or dual conductor wrist-strap, bench-top, flooring, shoe/heel strap and ground monitoring units. The central control unit contains one earth ground/electrical ground circuit, one bench-top monitoring circuit, (SMU-200-4 (6) only), an audible alarm and a pair of Red and Green LEDs for each monitored function. The SMU-200-4A and SMU-200-7A are specifically designed for the ASC-300 Automated Static Control System, but may also be used manually. |

MODEL SMU-200-4, SMU-200-4A, SMU-200-6 AND SMU-200-7A CENTRAL CONTROL UNITS (CCUs)
INDICATORS: Six red and six green LEDs for the SMU-200-4(A), eight red and eight green LEDs for the SMU-200-6, and nine red and nine green LEDs for the SMU-200-7A. All models contain an adjustable audible alarm. WORKSTATION SURFACE MONITORING: The SMU-200-4 and SMU-200-6 each include one workstation surface monitoring circuit and will alarm for worstation surface to ground resistances from 0 to more than 50 Megohm. These trip points may be factory set to a larger or smaller value. The SMU-200-4A and the SMU-200-7A do not include an internal workstation surface monitoring circuit. Remote workstation surface monitoring units may be used with all CCU models. GROUND MONITORING: The SMU-200-4(A), SMU-200-6 and SMU-200-7A each include one electrical ground/earth ground monitoring circuit and will alarm if the loop resistance of the electrical ground and the earth ground exceeds 100 ohms. This trip point may be factory set to a larger or smaller value. Electrical ground is brought into the CCU through the power adaptor's cord for measurement purposes. A separate systeem ground must be connected to the CCU's earth ground jack. INPUTS/OUTPUTS: The rear panel of the SMU-200-4 and the SMU-200-6 contains a 3.5mm jack for remote data acquisition. The output signal is zero volts for a "pass" condition and +5 volts for a "fail" condition. The output signal can drive a LED directly. For the SMU-200-4A and the SMU-200-7A, the simple 3.5mm dta jack is replaced by two RJ-11 jacks that provide +12v, system ground and eight digital data lines. By using SpectraScan invented "4-level logic", these eight lines provide up to thirty status signals from each CCU. The rear panels also contain jacks for workstation surface monitoring (SMU-200-4 and 200-6 only), earth ground input, (electrical gorund is brought into the CCU through the power adaptor-s cord), low voltage AC power input from the AC adaptor and one (SMU-200-4) or two (SMU-200-4A, 200-6 and 200-7A) RJ-11 jacks for daisy-chaining to remote units. Remotes 1 through 4 must be connected to the first jack (J1) and set to address numbers 1 through 4, corresponding to LED indicator sets 1 through 4 respectively. Remotes 5 through 8 must be connected to the second jack (J2) and also set to address numbers 1 through 4, corresponding to LED indicator sets 5 through 8, respectively. |

MODEL RWM-1500-1 and RWM-1500-2: The RWM-1500 uses the reliable loop resistance principle for continuous monitoring of dual conductor wrist straps with two 1.0 Megohm series resistors. The unit will alarm for a series resistance of less than 0.5 Megohm and more than 20 Megohm. These two trip points may be factory set to smaller or larger values. The RWM-1500-1 accommodates one wrist strap with two banana plugs. The RWM-1500-2 accommodates two wrist straps with 3.5mm phone plugs, for compatibility with SpectraScan (cloth or Speidel™ stainless stell), 3M and similar dual conductor wrist straps. Both wrist straps are continuously monitored when plugged in.
MODEL RWM-1000-1 and RWM-1000-2: The RWM-1000-1 and RWM-1000-2 use the body capacitance principle for continuous monitoring of one or two single wire wrist straps with a 1.0 Megohm series resistor. The unit will alarm for a series resistance greater than approximately 2.0 Megohm, and/or a measured capacitance of less than approximately 50pF. The trip point is internally adjustable. The RWM-1000-1 contains a single circuit and the RWM-1000-2 contains two independent circuits, for both operator and guest. MODEL RBM-1500: The RBM-1500 will alarm for workstation surface to ground resistances from 0 and more than 50 Megohm. These trip points may be factory set to smaller or larger values. MODEL RFM-1500: The RFM-1500 will alarm for floor mat, or permanent flooring resistance to ground from 0 and more than 50 Megohm. These trip points may be factory set to smaller or larger values. MODEL RST-1500: The RST-1500 will alarm for a total resistance of wrist strap and conductive shoes or a heel strap to ground of more than 100 Megohm. This trip point may be factory set to smaller or larger values. MODEL RGM-1500-1 and RGM-1500-2: The RGM-1500 will alarm if the loop resistance of the electrical ground and the earth ground exceeds 100 ohms. This trip point may be custom set. The RGM-1500-1 contains a single circuit and the RGM-1500-2 contains two independent circuits for monitoring two loops. |
| STANDBY: | |
| Option SA Option S |
An automatic standby circuit, activated by unplugging the wrist strap (Option SA), is available for remote model RWM-1500-2. A manual standby switch (Option S), is available for remote models RWM-1500-1, RWM-1000-1 and RWM-1000-2, and RST-1500. This switch will deactivate the remote unit in the standby position and allow the operator to leave without triggering a "FAIL" indication. The standby mode is indicated when both the green and the red LEDs for the applicable remote unit are on. When used with the ASC-300 system, the standby signal is also transmitted to the Data Acquisition System.
